Flx Modernize renders a modernized product page from your existing WooCommerce data. WooCommerce stays the source of truth, and if anything goes wrong the native WooCommerce page is served instead.

Modernize the page, not the store

An established WooCommerce site already holds what matters: its catalog, prices, stock rules, and the plugins and processes built around them. Improving the product page usually means a new theme or a full rebuild, and that puts all of it at risk.

Flx Modernize takes a narrower path. It leaves WordPress and WooCommerce in place as the backend and replaces only how a product page is presented, one site at a time. It is not a theme, a page builder, or a generic headless framework.

How it works

    Your existing site

    WordPress and WooCommerce keep running unchanged: products, prices, stock, cart, checkout and orders stay where they are.

    Flx Modernize plugin

    On an allowlisted product page, the plugin reads the product from WooCommerce and sends a structured, signed request to FlexPlat's Flx Render service.

  3. 3

    Modernized page

    Flx Render returns the modernized product page, which WordPress serves in place of the theme's product template.

    Native fallback

    If the request fails, is rejected, or the product is not supported, WordPress serves the native WooCommerce page exactly as before.

Nothing is modernized until the plugin is explicitly enabled in wp-config.php for a named list of products. Activating the plugin alone changes nothing.

Current pilot scope

The first external pilots are deliberately small:

  • one existing WooCommerce site
  • its staging environment, not production
  • product pages only
  • one to three representative simple products
  • the native WooCommerce page as the reference, with native fallback left in place

What comes from WooCommerce

The modernized page displays WooCommerce's own data. It does not recalculate prices or reimplement store rules.

  • Product title, short and full description, and SKU
  • Regular and sale price, and sale state
  • Stock status and stock quantity
  • Purchasability and quantity constraints (minimum, maximum, step, sold individually)
  • Product images, in the order WordPress resolves them
  • The native WooCommerce page as the reference, and as the fallback on any failure

For WooCommerce agencies and site owners

Flx Modernize has been developed and tested on FlexPlat's own WooCommerce demo store. The next step is an external pilot: seeing whether the approach holds up on a real, existing site, and whether it is useful to the people who run it.

We are looking for a WooCommerce agency or site owner with a staging site, at least one simple product, and a reason to want a better product page. A pilot involves:

  1. A short qualification call to confirm the site fits the current scope.
  2. Written permission and staging access from whoever controls the site.
  3. A dedicated signing key for your staging site, issued by FlexPlat.
  4. A baseline capture of the native product pages.
  5. The modernized product pages, compared side by side with the native ones.
  6. Your feedback, in your own words, on what works, what is missing, and what would come next.

During a pilot, product data for the selected products is sent to FlexPlat's Render service to produce the page. Disabling or removing the plugin returns every page to native WooCommerce rendering.

Current limitations

Flx Modernize is early-stage, and is not a replacement for WooCommerce's storefront. Today:

  • Simple products only. Variable, grouped and external products are left on the native page.
  • Product pages only for external pilots. Shop, cart, checkout and My Account stay native.
  • The add-to-cart control on the modernized page is a preview and does not add to cart yet, which is why pilots run on staging.
  • The gallery is a static set of images: no slider, zoom or lightbox.
  • The modernized page uses Flx's own presentation with your site's name and Home/Shop links. It does not yet reproduce your theme, menus or third-party plugin output.
  • Prices are shown as entered in WooCommerce. Tax-inclusive display, price suffixes and dynamic-pricing plugins are not supported.
  • Installed and configured by hand for each site. There is no self-service onboarding or admin settings screen.
